Our Board of Directors
Dianna Sanchez is a native of Flagstaff and received her Master’s in Teaching English as a Second Language and her Bachelor’s in Secondary English Education, both from NAU. She has spent her career doing what she loves most – helping and educating those around her so that they can achieve their goals and realize their dreams. Dianna is a passionate believer in ensuring that education is available to all members of our community and is thrilled for the opportunity to lead The Literacy Center.
Ingrid Brown is from Chile, and graduated as a Special Needs Teacher in 2006. Since then she has worked in different contexts with learning disabilities and in designing, administering, and teaching literacy programs in EFL and ESL classrooms in Chile and in India. She started volunteering at TLC in September 2017. Based on Ingrid’s own experience learning English as a second language, she recognizes that having a safe environment to practice language skills can make a huge difference, and that is what The Literacy Center provides to many of our students. Ingrid is very excited to be part of the TLC and is looking forward to making a contribution to this wonderful organization.
Monserrat Bello is from Mexico City and has had extensive administrative experience throughout her career. Monserrat came to the United States in 2015 and began coming to The Literacy Center to receive tutoring to prepare for the TOEFL exam, the college entrance exam required for admission for international students to any American university. Through her time as a learner at TLC, her dedication to her own educational growth and her sunny disposition did not go unnoticed. Now, Monserrat joins our TLC team not just as a learner, but as our Program Assistant. Monserrat is excited to be a part of TLC to have the opportunity to give back to the organization and to ensure that TLC continues its mission of serving our community.
Rudyann is from Los Angeles, California. She moved to Yuma, Arizona when she was only a couple of years old and graduated from San Luis High School. She is involved around campus in various organizations and is grateful for the wonderful opportunity to work at the Literacy Center as an office assistant through the federal work study program.
